Kara DioGuardi

While you may know her as the former American Idol judge who sat between Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres, Kara's songs have appeared on more than 150 million albums, and she remains one of the industry's most sought after songwriters and producers. Kara is a Grammy-nominated hitmaker, 2007 BMI Pop Songwriter of the Year, 2007 SOCAN Award winner, and has been awarded 19 BMI Awards for co-writing the most performed songs on the radio. Kara runs a joint venture record label with Warner Bros Records where she serves as Executive VP Talent Development, Office of the Chairman; and co-owns Arthouse Entertainment, a music publishing venture, with Bug Music. Kara is also a radio DJ on Clear Channel's, MY104 FM.

Kara's recent songwriting releases cover a variety of music genres and include Colbie Calliat's "I Never Told You", Carrie Underwood's, "Undo It," Pink's "Sober," Kelly Clarkson's "I Do Not Hook Up," Cobra Starship ft./ Leighton Meester "Good Girls Go Bad," and Theory of a Deadman's "Not Meant to Be," among others.

From her catalog of several hundred songs, over 291 have been released on major labels worldwide; and over 171 have appeared on multi-platinum selling albums. Over her career, she has had nearly 50 international charting singles, and her songs have helped propel 66 albums into the Top Ten of the Billboard 200. Kara's songs are continuously featured in major motion pictures, television shows, film soundtracks, and radio spots, as well as national and international commercial campaigns.

Kara is also co-owner of Arthouse Entertainment, where she develops and mentors fellow hit writers, producers, and artists. Within only 3 years of its inception, the multi-award winning songstress and entrepreneur catapulted her company to the ranks of #7 on Billboard's chart of Top Ten national music publishers for the three consecutive quarters. The company is currently enjoying huge radio success with B.O.B.'s (ft/Bruno Mars), "Nothin' On You", Travie McCoy's, "Billionaire", and Laura Bell Bundy's, "Giddy On Up".

At Warner Bros Records, Kara's recent signings include Jason Derulo and Iyaz, who have both enjoyed radio success with "Whatcha Say", "In My Head", "Replay" and "Solo". Iyaz is also published by Arthouse.

Kara is also involved in a variety of charity work, and has raised money and built several recording studios at various locations of the nationally renowned youth outpatient substance abuse center, Phoenix House.
