Josh Allen Biography
Dr. Joshua Allen serves as chief technology officer at Chimerix, Inc., where he leads the development of novel cancer therapies and has overseen the advancement of ONC201 from academic discovery through clinical trials. Previously, Allen held leadership roles at Oncoceutics, including Chief Scientific Officer and Vice President of Research and Development, contributing to the completion of Phase I and initiation of multiple Phase II trials for ONC201 at major cancer centers.
Allen was recognized by Forbes as a 30 Under 30 Healthcare honoree for contributions to oncology drug development. He is an inventor with several patents and has secured competitive grants for research in therapeutic technologies.
Allen’s expertise includes high-throughput screening, in silico analysis, animal models, combination therapy, cell signaling, cell death, biomarkers, and correlative assays. His publications address drug discovery, development, and biomarkers in oncology, with a focus on the TRAIL pathway and the imipridone class of compounds for cancer treatment.
Allen earned a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biophysics from the University of Pennsylvania and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Penn State Cancer Institute.
