Joseph Sirosh

Dr. Joseph Sirosh is a technology leader with a career at the forefront of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and machine learning. His professional experience includes roles as vice president at Amazon.com, chief technology officer of AI at Microsoft Corporation, and chief technology officer at Compass, where he contributed to the advancement of AI and machine learning applications.

Sirosh holds a Bachelor of Technology in computer science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, as well as a Master of Science in computer science and a doctorate in neural networks from the University of Texas at Austin. His publication record includes 21 journal and conference papers and two books focusing on neural networks in the brain, reflecting his expertise in AI theory and research.

During nearly a decade at Amazon, Sirosh rose to vice president of technology, overseeing the Global Inventory Platform and serving as chief technology officer of the core retail business. He was responsible for the science and software behind Amazon's supply chain and order fulfillment systems and led the central machine learning group. Before Amazon, he worked at Fair Isaac Corp. as vice president of research and development, leading projects for DARPA, homeland security, and other government organizations.

At Microsoft, Sirosh served as corporate vice president for information management and machine learning before leading the Data Platform, contributing to products such as SQL Server on Linux and Azure Data Lake. He held product and engineering responsibility for all Azure AI, enterprise database, and big data products, and built Azure ML, the first machine learning as a service platform in the cloud.

As Microsoft's corporate vice president and chief technology officer of AI, Sirosh became a public voice on the promise and responsibility of artificial intelligence, delivering keynotes at major conferences and emphasizing the democratization of AI technology. He advocated for making AI accessible to a broad range of users and highlighted its potential to amplify human ingenuity.

After Microsoft, Sirosh served as chief technology officer at Compass, a real estate technology company, where he led engineering and developed AI-powered products for the real estate sector. He later returned to Amazon as vice president of the Alexa Shopping group and joined the board of directors at Absci, a synthetic biology company, contributing his technology expertise to the life sciences field.

Sirosh has also pursued entrepreneurship, launching CreatorsAGI, a startup enabling creators to build conversational AI agents tailored to their content and audiences. The platform provides authors, YouTubers, media producers, and other creators with tools to develop AI assistants that reflect their content or personality and generate new revenue streams.
