Jonathan Katz

Jonathan Katz is an award-winning comedian, actor, writer, and podcaster who has appeared on television and in films for nearly four decades. Best known for co-creating and starring in the Comedy Central series “Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist,” Katz won an Emmy award for the show in 1997. The show’s creators also won a Peabody Award for excellence in broadcasting. Katz later created and produced “Raising Dad,” the WB sitcom starring the late Bob Saget and Brie Larson, and played the irritating head of business affairs on the CBS sitcom “Ink” with Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen.

Katz's debut music album, "Easy Listening, But Not That Easy," was released in 2025. He is the host of the Hey We're Back podcast, an audio sketch show featuring celebrated comedians.

Katz’s first appearance on television was in 1985 on “Late Night with David Letterman,” the first of nine appearances on that show. In addition to two HBO specials, he also appeared several times on the “Conan O’Brien Show,” as well as “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno and Johnny Carson (respectively). He portrayed himself on an episode of “The Larry Sanders Show” with Garry Shandling. As a voiceover artist, he can be heard on "Bob’s Burgers," "Hopeless Pictures," "Home Movies," "South Park," "Mr. Show," and many other programs.

The comedian, who lives with multiple sclerosis, is a Goodwill Ambassador for the National MS Society.
