Jonathan Ive

Jonathan Ive began his illustrious career as the senior vice president of industrial design at Apple in 1997. He was at the helm of the design team that was instrumental in crafting classic products including the iMac, iPod, iPhone, and iPad. His leadership extended to the design and development of the Apple Watch, which catapulted to the best-selling wearable device upon its release in 2015. Ive's architectural prowess is showcased in the design of Apple Park, which was unveiled in 2017. In recognition of his contributions to the field, Ive was bestowed with an honorary degree from the Royal College of Art in 2009 and was later appointed Chancellor of the institution in 2017.

In 2019, Ive pivoted to launch his independent firm, LoveFrom,. This collective works in collaboration with esteemed brands such as Ferrari and Airbnb, and made headlines in 2023 for the development of a foldable red nose for Comic Relief. LoveFrom,'s commitment to nurturing talent is demonstrated through its scholarship programme, initiated in 2023 to support designers from diverse backgrounds. The collective's venture into fashion was marked by the launch of an outerwear collection with Moncler in 2024. LoveFrom,'s collaboration with OpenAI led to the development of an artificial intelligence hardware device and culminated in the acquisition of Ive's AI venture, io, by OpenAI in 2025 for $6.5 billion.

Ive's contributions to design and his influence on British culture have been widely recognized. He has been appointed a Royal Designer for Industry (RDI) and an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (HonFREng). In 2006, he was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) and ascended to a Knight Commander of the Order (KBE) in 2012. Ive's influence was underscored when he was named the "Most Influential Person on British Culture" in a 2004 BBC poll. In addition to his responsibilities at LoveFrom, Ive contributes to the British Museum as a Trustee and is engaged in designing a new electric car for Ferrari.
