Jonathan Evans

Jonathan Evans is a pastor, author, speaker, and former professional football player recognized for his work at the intersection of faith and athletics. The son of Dallas pastor Tony Evans, Evans played college football at Baylor University before signing with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent. He played fullback for several NFL teams, including the Buffalo Bills, Washington Redskins, and Dallas Cowboys, as well as for the Virginia Destroyers of the United Football League. After his football career, Evans earned a master's degree in Christian leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Evans transitioned into ministry, serving as chaplain of the Dallas Cowboys and co-chaplain of the Dallas Mavericks. He also served as associate pastor of the NextGen Ministry at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, supporting his father in teaching, preaching, training, and pastoral care. Evans is a frequent speaker at churches, conferences, men's events, and youth gatherings nationwide, focusing on Christian leadership, spiritual growth, and equipping the next generation of believers.

As an author, Evans co-wrote "Get in the Game" with his father, offering practical guidance that blends sports analogies with spiritual principles. His solo book, "Fighting Your Battles: Every Christian's Playbook for Victory," draws from personal experiences of loss and resilience, providing a biblically grounded approach to facing life's challenges. Evans has appeared in faith-based films, including "The Forge," "Show Me the Father," and the documentary "Kingdom Men Rising."

Evans was installed as the lead pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, becoming only the second senior pastor in the church's history. Leading a congregation of nearly 10,000 members, Evans emphasizes a collaborative, community-centered vision rooted in the "Kingdom agenda," which focuses on demonstrating God's rule in every area of life. His journey from the NFL to ministry, shaped by personal loss and a commitment to authentic leadership, positions Evans as a respected voice in Christian ministry and faith-based leadership.
