Johan Rockström

Johan Rockström is the joint director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and the chief scientist at Conservation International. He also holds the position of Professor in Earth System Science at the University of Potsdam and Professor in Water Systems and Global Sustainability at Stockholm University. Rockström has made significant contributions to the scientific community, pioneering the planetary boundaries framework, which is considered crucial for maintaining a "safe operating space for humanity."

Rockström's work has been recognized in various ways, including the International Cosmos Prize, the German Environmental Prize, the Hillary Laureate, and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation Award.
