Joey Chestnut

Joey Chestnut quickly made a name for himself in the world of competitive eating, earning the title of Rookie of the Year in 2005. He then proceeded to out-eat the revered Takeru Kobayashi in the 2007, 2008, and 2009 Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contests, as well as the 2008 Krystal Square Off V World Hamburger Eating Championship.

Chestnut went on to win the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Championships a total of 16 times, from 2007 to 2014 and again from 2016 to 2023. He set multiple world records in these competitions, consuming as many as 76 hot dogs in 2021. His accomplishments also extend beyond hot dogs, as Chestnut has dominated other eating contests, including the Wing Bowl XV, where he ate 182 chicken wings in 30 minutes, and the first-ever Qdoba World Burrito Eating Championship in 2023, where he consumed 14.5 burritos in 10 minutes.

Away from the eating table, Chestnut is also a construction engineer by profession and holds a degree in engineering and construction management from San Jose State University. Despite his professional commitments, Chestnut shows no signs of slowing down in his competitive eating career. His talent and competitive spirit continue to make him a formidable figure in the sport, and he is currently ranked first by Major League Eating.
