Joe Zuniga

Joe Zuniga is a Latin recording artist, inspirational speaker, author, and entrepreneur recognized throughout the Tampa Bay area as Mr. Tampa. Zuniga performs a range of musical genres, including Latin, Norteño, Tejano, Regional Mexicano, and Country, with his seven-member band.

As a teenager, Zuniga developed a passion for music and learned to play various instruments. Despite early aspirations to become a recording artist, he faced challenges that led to expulsion from high school. After earning his high school diploma through the High School Equivalency Program at the University of South Florida, Zuniga continued to encounter difficulties and eventually served time in prison. During his incarceration, he participated in a prison labor program with the United States Navy, an experience he credits with instilling discipline and purpose.

Following his release, Zuniga earned a degree in business, studied business in Europe, and founded Zuniga Marketing, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in business administration, management, economics, and political science from the University of South Florida.

Zuniga launched his professional singing career and became the first artist in Florida to be nominated for a Tejano Music Award, also winning a Tejano Globe Award for his debut single. He later received the Mexican Regional Award at the Caravana Musical Awards. Zuniga has performed at festivals and concerts nationwide, including the Florida State Fair and the Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair in San Antonio, Texas. He was also a finalist on the international Latino talent show "Tengo Talento Mucho Talento."

As an author, Zuniga published the book "Debra LaFave – A Crown of Beauty for Ashes." He has expanded his musical repertoire by releasing the country single "On This Side Of The Door" and the song "ChikiChiki Boom Boom," which he dedicated to his late mother.

Zuniga has built a multifaceted career as an entrepreneur, author, and figure in the Tejano music scene, while remaining active in civic and community leadership initiatives in the Tampa Bay area. His keynote speaking topics include diversity and inclusion, Hispanic heritage, motivation, music, and overcoming adversity. Zuniga has also explored a campaign for Florida's 16th Congressional District, drawing on his experiences in community involvement and public service as a former honorary mayor of South Hillsborough County.
