Jessie Diggins

Jessie Diggins has made significant strides in her career as an American cross-country skier. She has been competing in the FIS Cross-Country World Cup since 2011, and her commitment and dedication have led to multiple victories, including three World Cup overall titles in 2021, 2024, and 2025. Diggins also made history by becoming the first American to win an individual event gold medal at the World Championships in the 10 km freestyle in 2023. Additionally, she had the honor of being the flag bearer for the United States at the closing ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Apart from her achievements on the snow, Diggins has used her status to influence change in various sectors. She is an ambassador for Fast and Female, a non-profit organization that inspires young girls to engage in sports, and Protect Our Winters (POW), where she focuses on combating climate change through the outdoor sports community. In 2019, she became a spokesperson for the Emily Program, which provides treatment for eating disorders, and shared her own experiences to help others. She further detailed these experiences and her professional journey in her autobiography "Brave Enough".

In recent years, Diggins has continued to make her mark in cross-country skiing. She won the 50th American Birkebeiner race alongside Gus Schumacher in February 2024 and clinched her third World Cup overall title in March 2025. She made history by ending a 42-year Olympic cross-country medal drought for the U.S. with a gold medal in 2018 and was the first U.S. cross-country skier to win an individual world title. Her contributions to the sport were recognized when she was awarded Norway's most prestigious skiing award, the Holmenkollen Medal, in 2024. In 2025, she announced her retirement from competitive cross-country skiing.
