Jessica Shortall Biography
Jessica Shortall is the R Street Institute’s Strategic Partnerships Lead in Integrated Harm Reduction. As part of this role, she leads the Safer From Harm Coalition, a diverse, bipartisan coalition supporting and amplifying R Street’s work across harm reduction.
Prior to R Street, Shortall was the vice president of corporate engagement at Freedom for All Americans and managing director at Texas Competes.
Previously, Shortall led two large business coalitions—one in Texas and one nationally—making the economic case for LGBTQ inclusion at work and in our communities. Her career has spanned the fields of public health, education, nutrition and human rights, and she was the first director of social impact at TOMS Shoes.
Shortall is the author of "Work. Pump. Repeat: The New Mom’s Survival Guide to Breastfeeding and Going Back to Work."
She received her MBA in social entrepreneurship at University of Oxford and her bachelor’s degree in art history at Wake Forest University. She was also a Skoll scholar at University of Oxford.
