Jean-Pierre Murray-Kline

Jean-Pierre Murray-Kline is a South African serial e-entrepreneur, published author and change champion who has worked in more than 300 types of industries in some capacity. His own online businesses have generated millions of rand and have involved sectors such as law, web and app development, events and entertainment, property, technical services, media and tourism. Murray-Kline researches and consults on all things online, including marketing, reputation, compliance, law and e-security, and he offers strategy workshops and scenario sessions on future thinking with a key focus on technology, the environment and global influences. He is often asked to be a guest speaker on a variety of subjects he continuously studies and writes about.

Murray-Kline was born in 1983, the same year the internet was launched, and his life has included a wide range of experiences. He is part of an extremely large family and was born with a rare eye condition, Duane syndrome, which resulted in some self-confidence issues while growing up. He used this as an opportunity to spend time alone learning to dismantle and rebuild computers, and his love for technology began at a very young age. In high school, he helped teach computer lessons to students and parents. After matriculating, he started his own company and, by age 19, had invoiced his first 1 million rand. Around the same time, he launched a nonprofit organization and has maintained several community projects ever since.

In his mid-20s, Murray-Kline met an entrepreneur who introduced him to web marketing and to selling services to Botswana using the internet only. This experience sparked his deeper engagement with the internet and web skills have been applied across many of his projects. His career took a detour after a traumatic personal event in his early 30s; he became a writer and subsequently a published author. He continued to write and launched a series of books, "Future Thinking," and continued to publish on those themes.

Murray-Kline describes himself as a business and environmental technologist, a future thinker and change champion. He has an eccentric character with a unique brand and offers genuine care and interest for people and business. He is adept at seeing the bigger picture and maintains a robust passion for innovative and efficient business, African entrepreneurs and ethical consumers and companies. When he is not working on a project, he can be found in nature, climbing a mountain or exploring a forest.
