Jasmine Wright

Jasmine Wright is a political journalist whose career spans coverage from the campaign trail to the White House press corps. Wright graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in broadcast journalism and completed internships with ABC News, NBC News, and Inked before beginning her professional career. She contributed to coverage of the 2016 election as the Political Unit's production assistant, establishing a foundation in political reporting.

Before joining CNN, Wright served as a reporter-producer at PBS NewsHour, where she covered topics including North Korea, climate disasters, and the Trump administration. She wrote and produced segments on Congress, the White House, and the Russia investigation for the daily news program. At CNN, Wright reported on the White House, worked as an embed on the campaign trail with then-Senator Kamala Harris, and covered the midterm elections. She also embedded with Senator Amy Klobuchar's Democratic primary campaign and reprised her role as an embed for Harris during her vice presidential run.

Wright covers the Trump White House and co-authors the NOTUS daily newsletter, reporting on both the second Trump administration and Kamala Harris' presidential campaign. Her reporting on the presidential race was recognized as a finalist for the Livingston Award for her work on the piece titled "Broken Since the Beginning," which examined internal challenges within the Harris campaign.

Wright appears regularly on CNN, MSNBC, CBS, and C-SPAN to provide political analysis. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. With experience across multiple administrations, presidential campaigns, and major news organizations, Wright offers in-depth analysis and reporting on American politics and governance.
