Jamahl Mosley

Jamahl Mosley is an NBA coach with a career spanning two decades, recognized for his work in player development, team leadership, and defensive strategy. Mosley played college basketball for the Colorado Buffaloes, where he was a four-year letterman and one of only 33 players in school history to score more than 1,000 career points. Undrafted in the NBA Draft, Mosley pursued a professional playing career overseas for four years before transitioning to coaching.

Mosley joined the Denver Nuggets as a player development coach and scout, later becoming an assistant coach. During his tenure under Head Coach George Karl, the Nuggets achieved at least 50 wins for three consecutive seasons, secured five NBA Playoff berths, and reached the NBA Conference Finals. He later served as an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers and then the Dallas Mavericks, where he became the team's defensive coordinator. While with the Mavericks under Head Coach Rick Carlisle, the team reached four NBA Playoff berths.

As head coach of the Orlando Magic, Mosley led the franchise from a rebuilding phase to playoff contention, including a Southeast Division title and a playoff berth. He maintained a top-three NBA defense for two consecutive seasons and is noted for his focus on player development and team culture. Mosley recorded the third-most regular-season wins in Magic franchise history.

Mosley also served as head coach of the USA Basketball Men's Select Team, guiding young prospects in training and promoting skill-building and leadership. His approach to player development and culture-building has earned respect across the NBA.

The New Orleans Pelicans hired Mosley as head coach on a five-year deal. He takes over a roster featuring young talent such as Derik Queen, Jeremiah Fears, and Yves Missi, alongside veterans including Trey Murphy III, Zion Williamson, Jordan Poole, Dejounte Murray, and Herbert Jones. Mosley's leadership and development strategies are positioned to support the Pelicans' growth and pursuit of playoff success.
