Jaime Camil is a Mexican actor, singer, and television personality known for his work across Latin American and U.S. entertainment industries. Camil earned a degree in business administration from Universidad Anáhuac, studied acting in New York, Los Angeles, and Mexico, and received classical opera training in Italy. His career spans television, film, music, and stage, reflecting a broad background in performing arts and media.

Camil began his entertainment career as a radio commentator on Radioactivo 98.5 before moving to television hosting on "El show de Jaime Camil," TV Azteca's "Qué nochecita con Jaime Camil," and Televisa's "Operación triunfo." He launched a music career with four platinum-selling albums, with singles from his second album, "Una vez más," reaching the Billboard charts.

Camil's acting career gained momentum through leading roles in Mexican telenovelas. His portrayal of Don Fernando Mendiola in the romantic comedy telenovela "La fea más bella" earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the Premios TVyNovelas. "La fea más bella" and "Por Ella Soy Eva" are among the highest-rated telenovelas in Mexican television history. Camil expanded his reach into American television with his role as Rogelio de la Vega on the CW series "Jane the Virgin."
