Jade Hwang

Jade Hwang is a martial arts master, keynote speaker, and empowerment specialist with a lifelong dedication to Taekwon-Do. Hwang was among the youngest to earn the title of Master through the International Taekwon-Do Federation. She became the first woman inducted into the Korean Martial Arts Hall of Fame for her achievements as a competitor on the U.S. National Taekwon-Do Team. A former college athlete, Hwang served as captain of the USA Taekwon-Do Team, representing the United States in international competition.

Hwang has been promoted to VIII Degree Black Belt by ITF-USA, recognized for her decades of commitment to Taekwon-Do, leadership in athlete development, and contributions to the growth of ITF Taekwon-Do in the United States and globally. As head coach of Team USA, she has played a key role in advancing competitive performance, coaching standards, and the culture of discipline and respect within ITF-USA. Retired from competition, Hwang also serves as chairperson of the ITF-USA Coaches Committee. She has spoken about the responsibility of her rank: to represent martial arts with integrity, develop the next generation, and raise standards, especially for women in martial arts.

Hwang is the creator of KBX PHX, a fitness kickboxing studio, and the KBX Method, which blends movement, mindset, and mastery to build strength, confidence, and discipline in a supportive community. She has worked as a sports performance coach for athletes at all levels, including those in the NCAA, NHL, NFL, and NBA. Her approach to fitness and wellness is rooted in martial arts philosophy, making her studio a destination for those seeking both physical transformation and personal growth.

Hwang conducts workshops and seminars internationally, focusing on self-confidence, resilience, self-defense, and personal safety. She has taught seminars and workshops on traditional martial arts, self-defense, and personal growth across the United States, South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Hwang provides self-defense and empowerment workshops at colleges, universities, and corporate settings, equipping participants with essential skills for self-protection and confidence.

A familiar presence on local television, Hwang is a subject expert in self-defense, personal safety, and health and wellness. Her commentary and practical advice have made her a trusted source in these fields. Hwang's community engagement includes leading free self-defense classes for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
