Ian Taylor

Ian Taylor is a mountaineer, expedition leader, and motivational speaker who has climbed six of the Seven Summits and is among fewer than 400 people to have completed all Seven Summits. Taylor became the youngest Irishman to reach the summit of Mount Everest. He and a colleague undertook a project to climb four mountains on four continents within a year, culminating with Everest, and raised $100,000 to build the Mount Everest Primary School in Uganda with the Irish charity Fields of Life. Taylor has contributed to the construction of four schools in Nepal and supported projects in Nepal, Peru, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Taylor has developed a multi-million-dollar business, managed turnaround projects, and served as a business development and charity ambassador. With more than 20 years of experience, he has summited Mount Everest, climbed Kilimanjaro over 40 times, and led more than 150 treks and expeditions worldwide. As president of the US board of directors for Fields of Life, Taylor raises awareness for educational initiatives in East Africa and has helped install 200 stoves in homes in Goli, Nepal.

Taylor has overcome significant personal and professional challenges, including saving a fellow climber’s life and persevering to summit Everest after being advised by professionals that he was not suited for the climb. His story highlights teamwork, resilience, and achievement. Based in the US and Ireland, Taylor manages his own trekking company, Ian Taylor Trekking, and works as a team leader, motivational and business consultant. He has led hundreds of people to achieve their goals in the mountains and continues to support water projects in East Africa through his Kilimanjaro expeditions. Taylor’s team’s Kilimanjaro journey was chronicled in a published book, and his Everest documentary, "A Summit Calling," continues to reach audiences. He is also developing a book about his journey.
