Hilary Roberts

Hilary Roberts is a testament to the power of transformation, having survived abuse, trauma and addiction and now performing, singing and speaking on stages around the world. After being sexually abused and tortured by multiple perpetrators starting at age 3, and then being trafficked at 16, Roberts spiraled into addiction and saw no way out of the pain Roberts endured.

On May 9, 1997, her life changed when she committed to a path of recovery. Roberts still faced more challenges, including a terrifying diagnosis that led to heart surgery with 50-50 odds of survival, and unhealthy relationships and partnerships that proved almost as dangerous as the addictions Roberts had left behind. Yet whatever Roberts endured, Roberts confronted her past trauma, rebuilt her life and found true love—something that once seemed impossible.

Today Roberts is a keynote speaker who delivers a powerful message of resilience, courage and forgiveness. She brings a blend of heartfelt love and encouragement paired with humor and fun, and her message is one of hope. Having achieved success as a singer-songwriter, including reaching No. 1 and No. 10 on the Billboard charts when everyone told Roberts it could not be done, Roberts remains unwavering in her belief that dreams can come true and that it is never too late. Roberts has defied the odds in her life, lives her message and inspires every room she enters.

Since 2012, Roberts has spoken at recovery events, women’s conferences, nonprofit organizations, corporate summits and faith-based conventions and to trauma survivors, always with optimism and compassion. She is the founder of The Red Songbird Foundation, which provides trauma therapy for individuals and families. Roberts speaks to empower her audience, and through her story of darkness and pain, Roberts lights the path for others to know that they cannot only recover but thrive.
