Hellah Sidibe

Hellah Sidibe has been running every day since May 15th, 2017 – and he’s not slowing down anytime soon. The run streaker, speaker, and content creator is an inspiration to millions and a bright light in the running world. He proves that anyone can be a runner; all it takes is facing the fear and getting out there (taking the first step? Putting one foot in front of the other?).

Sidibe began his streak in an effort to rediscover the joy in the sport after years of professional and collegiate soccer made running more work than play. What started as a brief challenge to run every day for two weeks morphed into a brand new life as days turned into months into years. Sidibe documented his journey on YouTube and quickly amassed hundreds of thousands of subscribers, a number which continues to grow. Through his video and social media platforms, he shares the love and serves as a community leader to like-minded individuals.

In 2021, Sidibe became the first Black man to run solo across the United States. The 3,061-mile, 84-day journey was part of a fundraising effort for the non-profit Soles4Souls. The run raised national awareness and sparked important conversations about the financial and physical limitations that affect an individual’s ability to run. Much of Sidibe's work is centered around making running as inclusive, supportive, and accessible as possible.

A man of principles and commitment, Sidibe’s other long-held streak is veganism, which he has practiced since 2016. He doesn’t do anything halfway and extends that joyful dedication to his relationships with followers, peers, and professional partners.

On why he runs, Sidibe says: “Running makes me feel like we have tough days in life, and we just don’t give up. You push through, and the good part will come.”
