Hannah Storm

Hannah Storm is a journalist, producer, and director recognized for her contributions to sports broadcasting and advocacy for children's issues. Storm began her national career as the first female host on CNN Sports Tonight, marking a significant milestone in sports media. At NBC Sports, she became the first woman in American television history to solo host a broadcast network's sports series, leading NBC's Major League Baseball coverage, including three World Series, and hosting four Olympic Games and The NBA on NBC. Storm also spent five years at CBS News as host of "The Early Show," covering major news events such as presidential elections, the Iraq War, and Hurricane Katrina.

Storm joined ESPN and became a central figure in the network's flagship programming. She has anchored various editions of SportsCenter and co-hosted major events including Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, the NBA Finals, the New York Marathon, Veteran's Day, the Super Bowl, the NCAA College Football Playoff National Championship, and the Rose Parade on ABC. Storm previously hosted and executive produced ESPN's primetime interview specials, "In Focus with Hannah Storm" and "Face to Face with Hannah Storm," interviewing prominent figures in sports. Alongside Andrea Kremer, Storm became part of the first female duo to call an NFL game for an Amazon Prime stream of Thursday Night Football, a role she continued for four years. She is also the host of the iHeart podcast "NBA DNA with Hannah Storm" and director of the docu-series "Grails: When Sneakers Change the Game" on Hulu. Through Brainstormin' Productions, Storm has produced, executive produced, and directed films, series, and branded content for ESPN, SEC Network, ABC Network, Hulu, Epix, and iHeart Radio. Her documentary work includes "Danica," a film on motorsports athlete Danica Patrick, which received two gold awards from the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards. Her production credits also include "Unmatched" from ESPN's Peabody Award-winning "30 for 30" film series, as well as "Swoopes," "Love & Payne," "Shaq & Dale," and "Rowdy."

Storm's career has been recognized with honors such as the Gracie Award for "Pioneering Work as a Female in the World of Sports Broadcasting," the Gracie Award for "Outstanding Anchor, News," the University of Notre Dame Distinguished Alumni Award, the March of Dimes Sports Legend Award, the YWCA Brava Award, and induction into the Paley Center for Media's She Made It, Women Creating Television and Radio Hall of Fame. The Marist College Center for Sports Communication presented Storm with its Lifetime Excellence in Sports Communication Award. Storm also received the Pat Summerall Award at the Legends for Charity event, becoming only the second woman to earn this honor.

Beyond her on-air work, Storm is a philanthropist and public advocate. Born with a port wine stain underneath her left eye, she established the Hannah Storm Foundation to raise awareness and fund surgeries for children with vascular anomalies. She advocates for early detection and testing following a breast cancer diagnosis, and her foundation has supported children from the United States, China, the Republic of Georgia, and Slovenia. Storm's resilience was evident when she sustained serious burns in a propane-gas grill accident at her home, returning to co-host the Rose Parade on ABC just weeks later. Her career and advocacy have made her a respected voice in sports media, sports journalism, and broadcasting.
