Hank Parker Jr.

In 1993, Hank moved up to full size stock cars. He ran a street stock purchased from Dale Earnhardt Jr. at the Concord Motorsports Park. There he won seven features in only 18 starts. In 1994, Parker ventured into late models. That year, he won one event and captured three poles. In 1995, he won two events and also racked up five top-fives and 10 top-10s. After that, Parker moved on to NASCAR, racing in the All Pro Series. In his first season, he ran a limited schedule, but still won a race. In his first full season of All Pro racing, he won two races and was also honored with the Most Popular Driver Award. During that season, Parker set a speed record at the Homestead Motorsports Complex and finished fourth in the final standings.

In 1998, he made a few starts in the Busch Series. He only ran three races that year, but finished sixth in his third start. 1999 marked Parker's rookie year in the Busch Series. He and his team turned in three top-10s and one top-five with a season high of third at South Boston Speedway. The next year, he scored two top-fives and nine top-tens and won his first career pole at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Sponsorship troubles forced his father's race team to close at the end of the 2000 season, and Parker signed with Cicci-Welliver Racing to drive their No. 36 Chevrolet. In 2001, he earned his first win -- at California Speedway. In 2002, Parker won at Pikes Peak, in a similar fashion to his California triumph. He also finished second at Homestead in an exciting battle with Scott Wimmer. Parker's first start in Cup series also came in 2002 behind the wheel of a Ray Evernham Dodge at Rockingham Speedway.
