Gian Paul Gonzalez

Gian Paul Gonzalez is a motivational speaker known for his message of total commitment, which has reached audiences in NFL locker rooms and Fortune 500 boardrooms. A former NCAA First Team All-American forward from Montclair State University, Gonzalez scored nearly 1,400 points during his three-year college basketball career, played in the NBA Summer League, and received professional basketball contract offers, which he declined to continue his work with at-risk youth. He was a First-Team All-NJAC selection, named Player of the Year for the NJAC, ECAC, and D3Hoops.com Atlantic Region, selected to All-American Teams by D3Hoops and the NABC, and was a finalist for the Jostens Trophy, awarded to the Division III Player of the Year. Gonzalez was also named NJAC Male Athlete of the Year.

Gonzalez gained national attention when he spoke at a chapel service for the New York Giants. At the time, he was a high school teacher in Union City, New Jersey. During the service, he distributed poker chips to players, asking them to write their number on one side and their commitment on the other, illustrating the concept of being "All In." Giants defensive end Justin Tuck later credited Gonzalez's message as a key factor in the team's victory that day. The Giants went on to win every game through Super Bowl XLVI, defeating the New England Patriots.

Gonzalez's connection to the Giants came through George McGovern, then chaplain for the team, who learned of Gonzalez's work with justice-involved youth at New Jersey juvenile facilities. When a scheduled speaker canceled, McGovern invited Gonzalez, which led to his speaking career. Gonzalez has been featured on ESPN on Super Bowl Sunday and has appeared on Fox News, ABC, and CNN. He has spoken to the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers, the Army Cadets at West Point, the United States Air Force, and various corporate, athletic, government, and educational organizations.

Gonzalez is the founder of Hope + Future, an organization that uses athletics and physical fitness to promote hope and excellence in inner-city public schools and juvenile jails. The Hope + Future Foundation offers programs and events that provide health and wellness education, aiming to empower youth and strengthen families. Gonzalez addresses themes such as achievement, Hispanic perspectives, overcoming adversity, and teamwork in his speaking engagements. His work has been featured on ESPN, Fox News, and CNN.
