Gerry McCambridge

Gerry McCambridge is a mentalist known by his stage name, The Mentalist. He combined his interest in magic with observational skills learned from his father, a New York City detective, before focusing exclusively on mentalism. McCambridge has studied memory techniques, body language interpretation, stage hypnosis, linguistics, statistics, law of averages, nonverbal communication, acting, theater, and stand-up comedy to enhance his mentalism performances. His shows feature mind reading, thought manipulation, and audience engagement without the use of traditional magic props.

McCambridge established his reputation performing as Gerry McCambridge — The Mentalist in comedy clubs, at Fortune 500 corporate events, and at private celebrity gatherings. The International Magicians Society presented him with the Merlin Award for Mentalist of the Decade, making him the first mentalist to receive this recognition for mentalism. The Psychic Entertainers Association honored him with the Bob Cassidy Memorial Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Art of Mentalism and the Dunninger Memorial Award for Distinguished Professionalism in the Performance of Mentalism.

McCambridge created, executive produced, and starred in the network television special "The Mentalist," which aired to millions of viewers in the United States and internationally. He also appeared in the reality television series "Phenomenon" and has been featured on talk shows including "Late Night With David Letterman," "The Today Show," and "The Best Damn Sports Show Period." McCambridge performed his one-man show "The Mentalist" Off-Broadway in New York City and made his acting debut in the movie "Mattie Fresno and the Holofulx Universe."

As a Las Vegas headliner, McCambridge has performed thousands of shows, holding the record for the longest-running mentalist show in Las Vegas history. He received a star on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars, and the Las Vegas Review Journal Reader's Poll recognized his production as Best Magic Show in Las Vegas.

McCambridge is the author of the autobiography "Making the Mentalist," which details his journey from a challenging early life to becoming a leading mentalist in Las Vegas.
