George Pitagorsky

George Pitagorsky, PMP, is a consultant, coach, and author specializing in project management and mindfulness. He combines expertise in project, program, and process management with extensive study and practice in mindfulness and wisdom traditions. With more than 50 years of experience in project, program, process, and product management, Pitagorsky has served as an entrepreneur, consultant to major corporations, and chief information officer for a multibillion-dollar organization.

Pitagorsky's career includes roles such as chief information officer for a multibillion-dollar organization, director of product development for an international training organization, and principal in two technology start-ups. He has worked with global corporate clients, government agencies, and small- and mid-sized firms in industries including education, technology, engineering, consulting, banking, and publishing. His consulting engagements have included work with Microsoft, Nokia, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, and Pfizer. Pitagorsky directed the development of the Unified Project Management Methodology and contributed to the creation of a global training firm's Project Management Competency Model.

As an author, Pitagorsky has written "Managing Expectations: A Mindful Approach to Achieving Success," "The Zen Approach to Project Management," "Managing Conflict in Projects," and "How to be Happy Even When You are Sad, Mad or Scared." He also contributed a chapter to "Cognitive Readiness in Project Teams: Reducing Project Complexity and Increasing Success in Project Management."
