General Peter Pace

General Peter Pace, USMC (Ret.) is a highly respected military leader who served as the 16th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2005 to 2007. He was the first Marine to hold this prestigious position. Prior to that, he served as Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, also marking a first for the Marine Corps. Over a career that spanned more than four decades, General Pace held leadership roles at nearly every level of command, beginning as a Rifle Platoon Leader in Vietnam and serving in key posts across Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Teaneck, New Jersey, General Pace graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1967. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Administration from George Washington University, completed the Senior Executives in National and International Security program at Harvard University, and is a graduate of the National War College.

In 2008, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States, in recognition of his extraordinary service.

Since retiring from active duty in 2007, General Pace has served on the boards of several companies in the fields of consulting, private equity, and cybersecurity. He has also contributed to higher education as a visiting professor and adjunct faculty member at institutions such as Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, Fordham University, and Georgetown University.
