Gabriella Poczo

Gabriella Poczo is a technology executive with more than 20 years of experience leading digital transformation across consumer mobile, fintech, payments, and software/SaaS sectors. Poczo has built a career translating complex business strategies into technical innovations, earning a reputation for helping organizations accelerate operations and improve efficiency. Her academic background includes a degree in mechanical engineering and computer science, which she leveraged to focus on mobile technology early in her career.

Poczo's professional experience includes leadership roles at major technology companies. She served as managing director of mobile engineering at Skype, where she led the transition from a desktop platform to a mobile-first product, resulting in growth for Android and iOS market share. Poczo also held the position of chief technology officer at messaging service textPlus, senior director of handset software development at T-Mobile USA—where she contributed to the launch of the first Android mobile handset—and engineering director and CTO for Sun Microsystems OEM Platforms Group. Her experience spans both startups and large global enterprises.

As CTO of WorldRemit, Poczo oversaw the launch of the first mobile remittance platform for emerging markets across 120 countries. She managed the integration of bank accounts, card payment systems, cash pickup networks, and mobile money platforms into a unified global transfer experience, advancing financial inclusion in developing regions. Poczo later joined American Express as vice president of software engineering, leading digital transformation initiatives, including a $3 billion portfolio of commercial products and services such as business checking accounts, cross-border payments platforms, and working capital loan platforms. At American Express, she received the Chairman's Award, the Award for Innovation, and was selected for CEO Advanced Leadership Development.

Poczo has advocated for women in technology, serving as an executive sponsor for Women in Technology at American Express and expanding the community significantly. She leads TechMavericks, LLC as founder and interim CTO/CIO and serves as a board advisor to founders and investors in the technology industry. Poczo authored "Framework to Go Faster," a handbook for technology leaders. As a keynote speaker, she addresses topics including digital transformation, high-performance culture, diversity, inclusion, and technology leadership.
