Gabriella Di Laccio

Gabriella Di Laccio MBE is an award-winning soprano, recording artist, public speaker, curator, and activist, who has become one of the leading voices in the fight for gender equality in music.

Di Laccio enjoys an international career that spans opera, oratorio, and chamber music. Recognized by Sir Charles Mackerras as “a singer of outstanding talent,” she performs regularly as a soloist on major stages across Europe, South America, and beyond. Her vocal range and expressive clarity have earned her acclaim for performances that effortlessly bridge the stylistic worlds of baroque, classical, and contemporary music.

Listed as one of the BBC’s 100 most inspirational and influential women in the world, Di Laccio is also the founder of Donne, Women in Music – a charitable foundation dedicated to amplifying women in music from past and present. In June 2025, she was appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her services to music and gender equality.

Her operatic repertoire includes leading roles such as Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare), Semele (Semele), Adina (L’Elisir d’Amore), Musetta (La Bohème), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Despina (Così fan tutte), and Zerlina (Don Giovanni). On the concert platform, she has performed major works by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Haydn, and Mozart in prestigious venues including Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room at Southbank Centre, Elgar Room at Royal Albert Hall, St John’s Smith Square, and the Megaron Opera House in Athens. She appears regularly with renowned early music ensembles such as Florilegium, Il Festino, Di Profundis, and the Baroque Orchestra of Mercosur.
