Ferran Adrià

Ferran Adrià is an internationally renowned chef and speaker, known for his pioneering work in culinary experimentation and innovation. He rose to global fame as the head chef of elBulli, once considered the best restaurant in the world. Adrià’s vision revolutionized the fine dining sector, making him a leading figure in the world of gastronomy. After elBulli closed in 2011, he co-founded elBullifoundation, a space dedicated to fostering innovation and creativity across various disciplines. His influence extends beyond cuisine, as he collaborates with top universities and industries to drive innovation in food, design, and management.

Adrià began his culinary journey in the early 1980s, quickly rising through the ranks at elBulli. In 1987, he decided to break away from the Nouvelle Cuisine movement and developed his own style, leading to a gastronomic revolution that blended technical prowess with emotional impact—what would later be termed the “techno-emotional” movement. During his tenure at elBulli, the restaurant was named the best in the world five times and influenced chefs and restaurants globally.

In 2011, Adrià transitioned from the restaurant to education and research, founding the elBulli Foundation. The foundation focuses on preserving elBulli’s legacy, fostering innovation, and generating high-quality content for the fine dining sector. Adrià also developed the Sapiens methodology, a unique approach to connecting knowledge across disciplines, which has become a core part of the foundation’s work. He has published over 60 books and continues to lead culinary and creative projects worldwide.
