Eric Shawn

Eric Shawn is a television news anchor and senior correspondent for Fox News Channel, based in Manhattan. A graduate of Georgetown University with a degree in urban studies, Shawn began his journalism career as a reporter for WNYC TV at New York City Hall and later worked at WNYW and WPIX in New York. He joined Fox News' affiliate news service, Fox News Edge, as the Fox Network anchor and correspondent, and later became an anchor and correspondent for Fox News Channel at its launch.

Shawn has reported on major national and international news stories, including the Gulf War, the Clinton campaign, the Democratic and Republican national conventions, and the O.J. Simpson murder case. As a correspondent for Fox News Edge, he covered significant events such as the Unabomber arrest, the TWA Flight 800 crash, the Waco siege, and the William Kennedy Smith trial. He has also served as a war correspondent in the Persian Gulf and Somalia. Shawn reported from Ground Zero for months following the September 11 attacks and has covered additional U.S. terrorism cases.

Throughout his career, Shawn has interviewed global figures such as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of Iran, and Shimon Peres, Israeli Prime Minister. He conducted an interview with Pakistan activist and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto shortly before her assassination.

Shawn led a Fox News investigation that uncovered new evidence in the murder of Teamsters leader Jimmy Hoffa, based on claims by hitman Frank Sheeran. He anchors the Fox Nation series "Riddle: The Search For James R. Hoffa," an investigative series focusing on the Hoffa case. Shawn has also reported on politics and terrorism, hosted the hour-long "Stealing Your Vote" during the 2012 election, and the "John McCain: Character and Conduct" special during the 2008 election. He co-anchors the weekend programs of "America's News Headquarters" with Arthel Neville. In addition to his television work, Shawn authored the book "The U.N. Exposed: How the United Nations Sabotages America's Security and Fails the World."

For his investigative journalism, Shawn has received multiple Emmy Awards and the Edward R. Murrow Award. He has publicly discussed his battle with cancer and respiratory problems linked to toxic exposure while reporting from Ground Zero after the World Trade Center attacks. Shawn continues to cover the story of September 11 and its ongoing impact, highlighting the personal risks journalists face in the field.
