Dr. Egypt Sherrod is a dynamic, Emmy Award–nominated television host, real estate expert, designer, author, and serial entrepreneur whose career spans media, real estate, philanthropy, and design. She is best known as the host and executive producer of HGTV’s top-rated series "Married to Real Estate," which drew over 19 million viewers during its broadcast season and continues to air in more than 82 countries.

Sherrod’s television legacy also includes the hit series "Flipping Virgins" and the long-running fan favorite "Property Virgins"—making her the face of three successful HGTV shows, all currently running in syndication, and solidifying her place as a household name in real estate and lifestyle television.

As the Founder & CEO of the Indigo Road family of companies, Sherrod leads a multifaceted business empire that includes:

Designed with sustainability, style, and functionality at its core, the collection reflects Sherrod’s mission to make elevated yet livable design accessible to every home.

A passionate advocate for women entrepreneurs, Egypt co-founded 1000 Women Owned, a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting 1,000 women-owned businesses by 2030. Through funding, mentorship, and personalized business support, the initiative fosters a global community where women rise together.

Sherrod’s impact has earned her numerous accolades, including: The BronzeLens Women Superstars Vanguard Honors Award; recognition as a USBC Women of Influence Power 50 Honoree; a Cheryl Magazine Women of Influence 2025 Honoree; an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Stillman College; nominations for both the NAACP Image Award and the Critics’ Choice Award; and being named Global Influencer of the Year by Inman News and listed among Atlanta Magazine’s Top 500 Leaders in Residential Real Estate.

In 2025, she became a TEDx speaker with her acclaimed talk, "The Phoenix Path." Her contributions were further solidified with a Proclamation from the City of Atlanta, declaring August 23rd as “Egypt Sherrod Appreciation Day,” and the prestigious honor of ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

Despite her expansive professional achievements, Sherrod holds family closest to her heart. She is a proud mother to three daughters—Harper, Kendall, and Simone—and shares both life and work with her husband of 14 years, Mike Jackson. Together, they co-host the award-winning podcast Marriage & Money with Egypt & Mike, offering candid insights on relationships, business, and purpose-driven living.
