Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard, a former professional basketball player and a prominent figure in the NBA, has a rich history of accomplishments. Howard's career began when he was selected first in the 2004 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic, becoming the first player directly out of high school to start all 82 games during his rookie season. Over his career, he played for multiple teams, including the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards, Philadelphia 76ers, and Taoyuan Leopards. Howard's athletic prowess was evident as he won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 2008 and was the youngest player in NBA history to average at least 10 rebounds in a season.

Howard's career is characterized by numerous accolades, including 8 NBA All-Star recognitions, 5 All-NBA First Team positions, and being named NBA Defensive Player of the Year 3 times. Beyond his NBA career, Howard continued making significant strides when he moved overseas to join the Taoyuan Leopards of the T1 League after the 2021–22 NBA season. During his time in the T1 League, Howard was named an All-Star, won the All-Star Game MVP, and led the league in rebounds during the 2022–23 season. He was also awarded the Most Valuable Import of the T1 League for the 2022–23 season before announcing his retirement from basketball in 2026.

Beyond his career in basketball, Howard has made a significant impact off the court. He established the Dwight D. Howard Foundation Inc. in 2004, and in 2009, was named one of the 10 finalists for the Jefferson Awards for Public Service. His involvement in media has also been notable, with appearances in shows like "The Masked Singer" and "Dancing with the Stars," as well as being featured in the documentary "In the Moment" by Epix in 2014. He was also the cover athlete of "NBA Live 10," and has been featured in every entry of the NBA 2K series from 2004's ESPN NBA 2K5 to 2021's NBA 2K22.
