Dr. Zorba Paster

Dr. Zorba Paster is a podcast host, broadcast journalist, author, university professor, and practicing family physician.

Paster was best known for his weekly public radio call-in show, “Zorba Paster On Your Health,” produced by Wisconsin Public Radio and syndicated nationally for decades. The final episode of that radio production aired in September 2025 after a long run on the airwaves. Although the traditional radio broadcast has ended, Paster continues to host a health and wellness podcast, "Stay Well with Dr. Zorba Paster," produced with Karl Christenson. He also still appears regularly with weekly medical commentaries and in other media.

Paster and his wife have been involved in the Tibetan independence movement since 1968 and studied under Geshe Sopa, one of America’s leading teachers of Tibetan Buddhism. In June 2008, Paster worked with Dr. Richard Chaisson and Kunchok Dorjee to help improve a tuberculosis control program at the Tibetan Delek Hospital, supported by Johns Hopkins University and serving the Tibetan diaspora. He serves as chairman of Friends of Tibetan Delek Hospital, an organization dedicated to supporting the hospital’s work. Paster is also involved in providing medical care for the Dalai Lama, working alongside Tsetan Sandutshang, the Dalai Lama’s primary physician.

Paster is the author of two books: "The Longevity Code: Your Personal Prescription for a Longer, Sweeter Life" and "Recipes from the Kitchen of Zorba Paster." Paster edits Top Health, a newsletter with a monthly readership of 2 million. He is a clinical professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Practice at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and serves as a principal investigator for research at the Dean Foundation.
