Dr. Wendy Macias-Konstantopoulos Biography
Dr. Wendy Macias-Konstantopoulos is a board-certified emergency physician, public health leader, and equity advocate. At Massachusetts General Hospital, she serves as Vice President and Vice Chair for Diversity, Health Equity & Inclusion in the Department of Emergency Medicine, as well as Director of the Center for Social Justice and Health Equity and Medical Director of the Patient Care Navigator Program. She holds the MGH Endowed Chair for Leadership in Emergency Medicine and is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School.
She earned her MD from the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont, an MPH from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and an MBA from Brandeis University’s Heller School. She completed her emergency medicine residency at the Mass General/Brigham and Women’s program and a Global Health Innovations Fellowship.
Dr. Macias-Konstantopoulos is a national leader in anti-human trafficking response in healthcare. She founded the Mass General Freedom Clinic and directs the hospital’s Human Trafficking Initiative, trauma-informed care programs, and related advocacy efforts. Her research and leadership span health equity, substance use, emergency department innovation, and social emergency medicine.
