
Dr. Michael Daignault is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with a background in global health and humanitarian service. Daignault graduated from Georgetown University with a focus in international health and earned his medical degree from the joint Ben-Gurion University/Columbia Medical Center Medical School for International Health. After graduation, he volunteered with the United States Peace Corps in the West Indies and later founded a short-term project to provide care for people living with HIV/AIDS in the Caribbean region. Daignault also worked with Doctors Without Borders, which influenced his decision to pursue emergency medicine.
Following medical school, Daignault completed his residency in emergency medicine at Lincoln Medical Center in New York City, a Level 1 Trauma Center. During his residency, he published three articles of original research, including two in the Journal of Emergency Medicine. He has served as a board-certified emergency physician since completing his residency and joined ESPMA at Providence Little Company of Mary. Daignault is affiliated with several hospitals in the Los Angeles area, including Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center and Providence Saint John's Health Center.
In addition to his clinical work, Daignault has established a presence in public health media. He has appeared as a medical contributor for CNBC, ABC7, and CBS9 in Los Angeles, and is an opinion contributor for usatoday.com. He serves as the medical contributor at Fox 11 News in Los Angeles, where he hosts a weekly medical roundup covering topics such as heart disease and measles. Daignault has also appeared on the news magazine series "Inside Edition," providing analysis on celebrity and trending medical news stories.
Daignault's writing has been featured in major outlets including USA Today and TIME Magazine, where he addresses complex public health topics from the perspective of a frontline emergency room physician. As a keynote speaker, his topics include extreme sports, health, healthcare, HIV and AIDS, medicine, and science.
