Dr. Jo Lichten

Dr. Jo Lichten, PhD, RDN, CSP, is a human performance expert, registered dietitian nutritionist, and author with extensive experience in healthcare, education, and the corporate sector. Lichten served as the founding director of the Dietetics Program at University of Texas/Pan American, where she developed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics Program that achieved full national accreditation. With a doctorate in adult education from Texas A&M University, focusing on change management, Lichten is recognized for her ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences across industries.

Lichten integrates the science of peak performance with practical strategies, collaborating with organizations to enhance employee performance, productivity, and profitability. She consulted with Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute, coaching C-suite executives on energy management, performance optimization, and burnout prevention. Her professional background includes working with healthcare, higher education, and corporate clients such as The Advisory Board, Janney, ExxonMobil, Gallo Wine, and the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses. Lichten also served as chief nutrition officer at Burger King, where she contributed to menu development by promoting healthier kids' options, veggie burgers, and trans-fat-free oils.

Lichten is the author of six books, including "REBOOT – How to Power Up Your Energy, Focus, and Productivity" and "How to Stay Healthy and Fit on the Road," which is based on interviews with business travelers seeking wellness strategies. Her work has been featured in newspapers, magazines, and websites such as Washington Post, USA Today, Business Traveler, Muscle & Fitness, Prevention, and Cooking Light. In addition to writing hundreds of magazine articles, Lichten has appeared on more than 300 radio and TV shows, including CNN and Fox.

Lichten has delivered more than 1,000 programs across North America and internationally at meetings, conferences, retreats, and online events. She continues to engage audiences with interactive formats, including quiz-show style presentations. Lichten holds the Certified Speaking Professional designation from the National Speakers Association, a recognition awarded to a select group of professional speakers.
