Dr. Dontá Morrison

Dr. Dontá Morrison is a nationally respected writer, producer, director and scholar-practitioner whose interdisciplinary work bridges public health, theology and social justice. For over two decades, Dr. Morrison has led critical conversations on race, sexuality and identity—challenging systemic oppression while uplifting the voices of Black LGBTQ+ individuals. His body of work centers the lived experiences of those too often marginalized by faith institutions and health systems, offering culturally grounded approaches to healing, education and inclusion.

He is the author of "Faithful and Forgotten: Navigating Race, Sexuality, and Belonging in the Black Church," a groundbreaking text that explores the spiritual trauma experienced by Black Christian gay and bisexual men. As a seasoned workshop facilitator, Dr. Morrison develops and leads engaging, youth-centered programs that focus on emotional wellness, identity development and resilience. His mentorship of Black and Latino gay youth has empowered countless young men to reclaim their narratives and build purposeful futures.

Dr. Morrison has lectured across the United States and internationally—including India, the United Kingdom and West Africa—on topics such as HIV prevention, LGBTQ+ inclusion and religious harm. He is also the co-owner of WATCH VIM, a streaming platform amplifying LGBTQ voices of color, and continues to create spaces where justice, visibility and transformation thrive.
