Dr. Diana Sorrentino, Ph.D.

Dr. Diana Sorrentino, Ph.D., is a social psychologist and behavioral analyst with expertise in national security, criminal profiling, and crisis management. Sorrentino holds a doctorate in sociology with a focus on Middle East and Islamic studies, as well as a doctorate in psychology specializing in the psychology of criminal behavior. Her career spans more than 40 years and includes service as an intelligence operative, researcher, and analyst for government agencies, concentrating on counterterrorism, counterinsurgency, and counterintelligence operations in the Middle East, Central, and Southwest Asia. This combination of academic background and intelligence experience informs her work in behavioral threat assessment.

Sorrentino is a member of the Lehigh Valley Paladin organization, where she specializes in workplace security, internal and external investigations, risk and threat assessments, behavioral analysis, and criminal profiling. Her responsibilities also include critical incident and crisis preparedness, intervention, and management. The organization offers services such as behavioral analysis, critical incident management, workplace violence prevention, threat assessment and management, active shooter preparedness, and security consulting. Sorrentino also provides behavioral analysis, threat assessment, and interrogation services for criminal matters involving prosecutors and defense attorneys in capital murder cases.

Sorrentino has participated in the Homeland Security Forum at DeSales University and has contributed content for undergraduate and graduate homeland security programs. She develops and presents professional development and educational programs, in-service training, and continuing education for conferences, seminars, and symposiums. Her work as an educator and public speaker covers security, behavioral risk, and crisis preparedness for a variety of institutions and organizations.

She is a published author on transgender, gender identity, and sexual orientation, and hosts the "Paradoxes of Gender" podcasts, which provide continuing education for medical and behavioral healthcare professionals working with transgender, gender diverse, gender non-conforming, gender incongruent, and non-binary individuals. The "Paradoxes of Gender" podcasts have reached audiences in more than 80 countries. Sorrentino frequently delivers keynote addresses, lectures, and seminars on gender diversity, transgender issues, and LGBTQ+ community topics for churches, seminaries, schools, colleges, and universities.
