Dr. David Katzenstein Biography
Dr. David Katzenstein directs a private psychotherapy practice in Brooklyn, N.Y., and is a consultant for several mental health technology companies. He provides workshops and trainings at clinics, schools and organizations across the tri-state area. Previously, Dr. Katzenstein was the Chief Clinical Officer at SIMHA, the Sephardic Initiative for Mental Health Awareness, Clinical Director of Behavioral Health at Premium Health Center, and a clinical supervisor and instructor at the Maimonides Medical Center Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
He received his doctorate from New York University (NYU), where his areas of focus included sexual abuse in Orthodox Jewish communities and epigenetics and trauma in Holocaust survivors. He received his master of social work from City University of New York-Hunter College and a bachelor’s in psychology from Touro University. Dr. Katzenstein has served as an adjunct faculty member at New York University and Touro University, and as a clinical instructor at both NYU’s and Wurzweiler’s Schools of Social Work.
He has presented on a myriad of topics related to psychology and mental health at peer-reviewed conferences across the globe and is a consulting reviewer for the Journal of Child Sexual Abuse and the Clinical Social Work Journal.
