Dr Leonard Weather

Leonard Weather Jr., RPh, MD, FAPCR, FFPM, is a gynecologist from Utica, NY. He received his BS in Pharmacy from Howard University and his MD from Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship in gynecology and obstetrics at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Weather is a health educator, professor, ordained minister, artist, author, and photographer. He has authored three inspirational poetry books, an infertility handbook, and his most recent book, "Endometriosis: The Name of the Pain and How to Repress It." He is an active women's health clinical trials researcher who has presented over 210 peer-reviewed presentations and papers on surgical treatment of infertility, endometriosis, pelvic pain, fibroids, and women's health issues. Additionally, he invented the surgical procedure Optical Dissection Pelviscopy, to assist in the prevention of organ injury during laparoscopy.

Dr. Weather is a board member of the State of Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners, Past President of the National Medical Association, and Past President of the Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research. Additionally, he is a member of the Boule’ and Omega Psi Pi Fraternity. In December 2023, he was appointed as the AMA's Representative to the U.S. Adopted Name Review Board. On May 16, 2024, Dr. Weather was elected as a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, which was awarded at the Royal College of Physicians, in London, England, on July 3, 2024. Additionally, in December 2024, Dr. Weather was appointed by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra to the Agency of Health and Research Quality's (AHRQ) National Advisory Council.

Dr. Weather was appointed as a member of the MedEvidence Advisory Board in September 2025. In October 2025, he was elected Secretary-Treasurer of the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and Treasurer of the Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research.
