Diane Guerrero

Diane Guerrero garnered attention for her roles in popular television shows like "Orange Is the New Black," "Jane the Virgin," and "Doom Patrol," as well as her voice role as Isabela Madrigal in the 2021 Disney film "Encanto." Her performance in "Encanto" also included her participation in the film's chart-topping song, "We Don't Talk About Bruno," which achieved multi-platinum certifications. Among her other notable roles, Guerrero starred as Kay Challis/Crazy Jane in the Max action-drama series "Doom Patrol" for four years, from 2019 to 2023.

Apart from her acting career, Guerrero has also demonstrated her writing abilities, having authored two versions of her memoir about her personal experiences with her parents' deportation. The first, "In the Country We Love: My Family Divided," was followed by "My Family Divided," a version of her memoir aimed at younger audiences. Additionally, she hosted the first two seasons of the Hello Sunshine podcast "How It Is."

Guerrero's advocacy work for the immigrant community is well recognized. She volunteers and serves as an ambassador for the Immigration Legal Resource Center and as a board member for Mi Familia Vota. In 2018, she won the "Lupe Ontiveros Indomitable Spirit Award" for her advocacy and efforts to increase the visibility of Latino achievements in the USA. She was also named one of the Presidential Ambassadors for Citizenship and Naturalization by Barack Obama in 2015 and was recognized at the 2018 Phillip Burton Immigration & Civil Rights Awards and the 21st Annual Impact Awards Gala by the National Hispanic Media Coalition.
