Diamond Garrett

Diamond Garrett is a wheelchair dancer, motivational speaker, author, and gun violence survivor whose journey from tragedy to recovery has reached audiences nationwide. Garrett began dance training at age 2, using dance as a form of self-expression and release. She attended elementary, middle, and high schools focused on the arts, establishing her identity as a performer early on. Her path changed dramatically after a road trip left her paralyzed from the waist down when she was shot nine times, with bullets striking her stomach, back, legs, and arms. The shooters fired 79 rounds in her direction using an AK-47 and an AR-15.

After her injury, Garrett initially believed she would never dance again. Around that time, she discovered the TV show "Push Girls," which introduced her to wheelchair dancing. Inspired by the show, Garrett connected with dancer and "Push Girls" star Chelsie Hill, who helped her obtain a wheelchair that enabled her to continue dancing. Garrett began sharing videos of herself dancing in her wheelchair, building a large following on TikTok through her energetic performances.

Garrett also choreographs routines and collaborates with other dancers. She supports newly injured individuals through events such as the Rollettes Experience, an annual camp that empowers women and girls in wheelchairs from across the United States and around the world. Garrett is active in educating and mentoring youth in her community, focusing on positive decision-making and empowerment. She has studied at the University of Central Florida.

With support from family and friends, Garrett earned her bachelor's degree, learned to live independently, and continued her advocacy work. She is the CEO of Roll With It LLC, a company dedicated to supporting the disabled community. Garrett is also a speech therapist, gun violence speaker, activist, and LGBTQ rights advocate. With a significant following on Instagram and a growing platform, Garrett uses her story to encourage others in the disability community and beyond to pursue their goals and overcome adversity.
