Devin Frizado

Devin Frizado is a certified life coach, Shinpiden Reiki Master, mindfulness practitioner, and sober advocate whose personal journey from addiction to recovery has established her as a credible voice in wellness and mental health. Frizado earned a degree in electroneurodiagnostic technology as a single young mother and advanced her career in the medical field. She worked at a level 1 trauma center in Boston, later served as senior technologist at a VA hospital, and helped grow the neurology department as senior technologist at a large outpatient clinic in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.

Frizado's career trajectory shifted dramatically following a medical crisis related to alcoholism. Her struggle with addiction led to multiorgan failure and a diagnosis of central pontine myelinolysis (CPM), resulting in paralysis on her left side after a lesion formed on her brainstem and spinal cord. Despite these challenges, Frizado focused on physical, mental, and psychological rehabilitation, regaining cognitive and motor function while studying psychology, mindfulness, and holistic health to manage her permanent disabilities.

Drawing from her recovery, Frizado became an advocate for addiction recovery and mental health. She founded a sober mothers' group and the nonprofit Mindful Moms, Inc., integrating mindfulness practices into recovery programs for mothers facing addiction. Frizado has built an online presence supporting individuals dealing with mental illness, chronic illness, domestic abuse, addiction, and the complexities of motherhood. She also promotes holistic health, emphasizing nutrition, gut health, and living free from pharmaceuticals.

Frizado has shared her experience of achieving sobriety after a series of life-threatening health events, and her openness has resonated with many. She highlights the importance of safe spaces for women struggling with addiction and incorporates humor, mindfulness, and positive thinking into her approach. Through her work with Mindful Moms, Inc., Frizado continues to support mothers at the intersection of addiction, mental health, and parenting, offering resources and community for those seeking recovery and holistic wellness.
