Debbie Matenopoulos

Debbie Matenopoulos is an American television host, journalist, lifestyle expert, and bestselling cookbook author with a career spanning nearly three decades in broadcast media and entertainment. An Emmy nominee, Matenopoulos began her career in entertainment at age 17 with MTV and, at 21, became the youngest person to hold a permanent co-host position on daytime network television as one of the original five co-hosts of ABC's talk show "The View." During her tenure, she contributed to shaping the show's format and reputation, offering perspectives from a younger generation and helping establish the program as a significant presence in daytime television.

Matenopoulos's departure from "The View" marked a turning point in her career. She went on to launch TV Guide Channel, host the TBS series "He's a Lady" alongside Morgan Fairchild and John Salley, write and sell a made-for-TV movie to Oxygen Network, and co-host FOX's nationally syndicated morning show "Good Day Live."

She later joined E! Network, co-hosting red-carpet events with Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic for major awards shows including the Emmys, Grammys, Golden Globes, and Academy Awards. Matenopoulos also hosted "Fashion Police," "The Daily 10," and served as co-host on Style Network's "Instant Beauty Pageant." She was named co-host of "The Insider" and later served as a special correspondent for "Entertainment Tonight," where she interviewed numerous Hollywood celebrities and covered high-profile news stories such as the Jennifer Hudson murder trial, Whitney Houston's death, and the Aurora, Colorado movie theater shooting trial.

Matenopoulos co-hosted Hallmark Channel's daytime lifestyle program "Home & Family," which earned two Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lifestyle Series. Her work on the show included segments on cooking, home decor, and family topics. Drawing on her Greek heritage, Matenopoulos authored the cookbooks "It's All Greek to Me" and "Greekish," the latter featuring 54 recipes inspired by Greece. She has made guest appearances on various television platforms, including a return to "The View" to share family recipes and discuss her early career.
