David Sable

David Sable is a recognized figure in global advertising, with a career spanning more than four decades across major agencies. Beginning as a trainee at Young & Rubicam, Sable has worked with clients ranging from Fortune 10 companies to startups. After his initial role at Young & Rubicam, he joined Wells Rich Greene before relocating to Israel, where he co-founded Mimsar, an agency focused on the emerging hi-tech industry, serving companies such as SCITEX, ELBIT, and Israel's Military and Aviation Industries. Sable also served in the Israel Defense Forces as a combat medic.

Upon returning to the United States, Sable rejoined the Young & Rubicam group, working for Burson-Marsteller and Cohn & Wolfe, advising clients including Colgate-Palmolive, Digital Equipment Corporation, and Coca-Cola. He later returned to Young & Rubicam Advertising to lead the global Colgate-Palmolive account and contributed to winning the United States Postal Service consolidated account. Sable became vice chairman and chief operating officer of Wunderman, where he played a key role in transforming the agency into a leading digital marketing network. He was a founding partner of Genesis Direct, one of the first digitally focused omni-channel startups, and later brought that experience back to Wunderman, ultimately serving as vice chairman and helping the firm transition into WPP as a digital and data-driven agency.

As global CEO and chairman of Young & Rubicam, Sable led the agency’s growth as a top global creative firm and oversaw the development of practices such as the in-house innovation accelerator, The Spark Plug. He also contributed to expanding the global presence of VML and played a role in unifying Young & Rubicam and VML into VMLY&R. During his tenure, Sable worked with brands including Microsoft, Dell, IBM, Altice, Citi-Bank, AT&T, Kraft, and Pfizer. He has served as jury president at Cannes three times and was a member of the Titanium jury. Fast Company recognized Sable as one of the 10 Most Generous Marketing Geniuses.

Stagwell appointed Sable as vice chair, where he is responsible for developing new solutions for clients and expanding the range of services offered. He was part of the founding team of the "Shine a Light on Antisemitism" campaign, a large-scale social activation effort uniting organizations, companies, communities, and elected officials to address antisemitism. Sable served as executive producer on MTV's "Rebel Music" series and has received awards including a Gold Marcom Award for his video book "Close Your Eyes."

Sable has held leadership roles in the industry, including former chairman of the Advertising Council's board of directors and director-at-large of the 4As. He serves on the boards of American Eagle Outfitters, Ethan Allen, UNICEF USA, the International Special Olympics, and the executive board of UNCF. Sable is a prolific writer, maintaining the blog "The Weekly Ramble" and contributing to Google Think Insights and Fast Company, with his perspectives featured in Advertising Age, ADWEEK, Forbes, and Microsoft Advertising. He is the author of the children's book "What Would You Wish For" and is a designated LinkedIn Influencer.
