Dat Phan is a Vietnamese-American stand-up comedian who gained national recognition as the original winner of "Last Comic Standing," defeating Ralphie May to claim the title. Phan's win brought him into the national spotlight and established him as a headlining comedian, performing at live venues across the United States. His career in comedy is characterized by resilience, cultural insight, and sharp observational humor, making him a notable figure in the stand-up comedy industry.

Phan's journey to comedy was unconventional. After leaving college to pursue stand-up, he moved to Los Angeles, where he experienced homelessness and worked at The Improv in Hollywood while performing at open mic nights and small clubs. Despite facing significant challenges, including being robbed at gunpoint, Phan continued to pursue his passion for comedy, which shaped both his comedic style and his public persona as a speaker and performer.

Following his "Last Comic Standing" win, Phan expanded his presence in television and film. He appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," contributed voice work to "Family Guy" and "Danny Phantom," and acted in films such as "Cellular," "Love Is the Drug," "Sake-Bomb," "The Hungover Games," and "108 Stitches."
