Daniel Franzese

Daniel Franzese is an actor, comedian, and activist whose career encompasses film, television, theater, and stand-up comedy. Franzese gained early recognition with a role in Larry Clark's "Bully," where he explored complex themes of teenage life. He continued to appear in New York-based independent films, including "Party Monster" and "Stateside."

Franzese is widely known for his portrayal of Damian in Tina Fey's comedy "Mean Girls," a character recognized as an influential queer figure in film. "Mean Girls" achieved significant box office success and has maintained a strong cultural presence. Following this role, Franzese appeared in projects such as "Bristol Boys" and "The War of the Worlds."

On television, Franzese portrayed Eddie in HBO's "Looking," depicting an HIV-positive character and contributing to representation of HIV/AIDS awareness in scripted television. He has been active in advocacy, serving as an ambassador for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and engaging in efforts supporting HIV/AIDS causes, LGBTQIA+ rights, homeless queer youth, and the movement to ban conversion therapy.
