Dani Klein Modisett

Dani Klein Modisett is a comedian, actor, author, and entrepreneur with a career spanning more than two decades in stand-up comedy, writing, and education. Modisett's film credits include "The Out-of-Towners," "The Doors," and "Wall Street." Her national touring comedy act and one-woman show have been featured at the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival. A former Broadway actor and veteran of Law & Order and Las Vegas, she has appeared as a guest on Stanford's When I'm 64 podcast and The Tony Robbins Podcast. As a writer, her work has been published in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, Parents Magazine, and the Los Angeles Times.

Modisett is the author of two books: "Afterbirth: Stories You Won't Read in a Parenting Magazine" and "Take My Spouse, Please," a part-memoir, part how-to guide focused on using shared laughter to strengthen marriage. Before founding Laughter On Call, she taught stand-up comedy at UCLA for a decade and has coached keynote speakers, business leaders, and Congressional candidates on incorporating humor into their communication.

Her entrepreneurial journey began when her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and experienced depression. Modisett hired a comedian to help lift her mother's spirits, leading to the creation of Laughter On Call. After writing about her experience for AARP, she received numerous requests for comedians to support others facing similar challenges. With support from the Rosenthal Foundation, she launched Laughter On Call, which provides interactive team-building, wellness workshops, professional development, and leadership training for companies worldwide, with a focus on humor, dementia care, and mental health.

Laughter On Call has delivered more than 500 virtual and in-person events for businesses, schools, and families globally. The company is a case study for Harvard Business School and has trained thousands of caregivers while working with over 600 companies, including META, Amazon, Capital One, Bristol Myers, and FEMA. Laughter On Call has been featured in The Washington Post, The London Times, The New York Times, and AARP Magazine.

Modisett has served as a member of the Milken Alliance to Improve Dementia Care and was named to the Forbes 50 Over 50 list. She has been a guest lecturer at Harvard Business School and has spoken for WBENC, WBDC, Fuqua at Duke, and Dartmouth's Tuck Business School. Her TEDx talk, "What My Mother's Alzheimer's Taught Me About Laughter," highlights her expertise at the intersection of humor, human connection, and resilience.
