Crystal Dunn

Crystal Dunn, a former professional soccer player, is internationally recognized for her versatility on the soccer field. She began her career at the University of North Carolina, where she not only won the national championship but also the prestigious Hermann Trophy in 2012. From there, her momentum didn't wane. She was first overall drafted by the Washington Spirit in the 2014 NWSL College Draft. Her skill was soon apparent when she won the NWSL Most Valuable Player and the Golden Boot awards in 2015, thus becoming the youngest player to bag both awards at the age of 23. She also played for numerous clubs, including Chelsea, North Carolina Courage, Portland Thorns, Gotham FC, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Throughout her career, Dunn achieved numerous victories including two consecutive NWSL Shields and NWSL Championships with North Carolina Courage, and another NWSL Shield and Championship with Portland Thorns. Her international career was just as successful, making 160 appearances and scoring 25 goals for the US Women's National Team (USWNT). Her notable feats on the international stage include being part of the USWNT that won the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. After an illustrious career, she announced her retirement from professional soccer in 2026.

In addition to her athletic achievements, Dunn was also featured in Self Magazine and starred in the docu-series "Keeping Score." She has been recognized for her skills and contributions on and off the field, often leading discussions about player positions and tactics within women's soccer. Her career has influenced many young athletes and continues to resonate within the soccer community long after her retirement.
