Connor McDavid

Connor McDavid is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who serves as center and captain for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League. McDavid was selected first overall by the Oilers in the NHL Entry Draft and is recognized as one of the top players in the sport. He was granted exceptional player status by Hockey Canada, allowing him to begin playing junior ice hockey at age 15. During his three-year career in the Ontario Hockey League, McDavid earned five individual awards and concluded his junior tenure as the most decorated player in league history.

McDavid's NHL career features numerous individual honors and record-setting performances. Despite missing part of his rookie season due to injury, he was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team. The Oilers later appointed McDavid as the youngest captain in NHL history. In his first full season as captain, he recorded 100 points at age 20, becoming the second youngest player to win the Art Ross Trophy as the league's leading scorer.
