Colby Smith

Colby Smith is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, keynote speaker, and disability rights advocate whose professional mission is informed by personal experience with spinal cord injury and paralysis. At age 17, Smith sustained a spinal cord injury resulting in paralysis from the shoulders down following a car accident. He has since focused on education, advocacy, and service in the field of disability rights and rehabilitation counseling.

Smith holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling. As a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, he works with individuals with cognitive, developmental, and physical disabilities, supporting their pursuit of independence and inclusion. Smith's background provides a dual perspective as both a trained counselor and someone with lived experience navigating life with a high-level physical disability.

Smith advocates for acceptance, equality, and inclusion of people with disabilities.
